Racer League

Under the astonished eyes of Fabian Vettel, Michal Smidl wins the Silverstone race of our Championship. The brother of four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel commented on the Racer and Challenger League races from Zurich. "That was absolutely great and, above all, fair racing, fantastic to watch," Vettel said happily.

Smidl is heading for his third Racing Unleashed title with a 74-point lead and four races to go. "I pushed like crazy. It paid off, there were some nice overtaking manoeuvres," said the 2020 champion happily. "But I didn't expect to win, the focus was on the championship. Christoph probably had a problem, he didn't deserve that."

In fact, second-placed Christoph Holstein had steering wheel centring problems while leading with four laps to go. As a result, he lost control at Stowe Corner and had to let the Czech Republic's best simracer pass. Smidl was also given a place by his friend and compatriot Vojtech Polesny, who starts together with Smidl in the Munich Lounge.

"It was a great day for the Czech simracing scene".

Challenger League

On Saturday, the drivers of the Challenger League were already on the track. Siro Zambra claimed the victory. "I had a good start, then managed to get a lead and controlled it until the end," said the race winner from the Zurich lounge.

In the duel-intensive Silverstone race, Nico Fahland took second place: "I'm very happy with the result. I needed the points. I work and train hard.

The podium was completed by Sinan Demirbas, who is now the leader with 83 points. In the Championship, Spaniard David Cid is 1 point behind Demirbas after a messed-up race.

The next races are scheduled for August 27 and 28. Then our RU stars will race parallel to the Formula 1 drivers on the virtual circuit of Spa-Francorchamps.

The races will again be broadcast live on YouTube (English) and Twitch (German). Be there and support your favorite simracer!
