The battle of Mugello

Pure excitement on the virtual track of Mugello! Alejandro Sanchez narrowly misses out the early championship decision in the penultimate round of the Racer League and Javier Loro cannot call himself champion yet either.

8 Challenge Michal Smidl WEB

Title race without Smidl

What a shocker to start the day, when it was announced that Michal Smidl could not take part in Mugello. Sanchez, who would have decided the championship battle with a third place, missed out on the early championship decision and this was due to his compatriot Coque Lopez.

Sanchez crossed the finish line in third place, but due to a collision at the start with Lopez, he received a 10-second penalty and ended up in fourth place. The title decision is thus postponed. However, Sanchez leads Smidl by 23 points and can clinch the title with a 9th place in the last race.

Christoph Holstein

Double victory in the new lounge at the Circle

The winner of the Racer League race is Christoph Holstein. He benefited from the chaos at the start and took the lead after the collision between Sanchez and Lopez. He drove a lonely race until the end and did not give his competitors a chance to get closer. Second place went to Dominik Dedic, who - starting from 6th place - was also a winner at the start. But after an initially comfortable lead over third-placed Lopez, the latter came closer from lap to lap. About halfway through the race, he caught up with Dedic and many probably already wrote off the double victory. But Dedic defended himself until the end and left the two Spaniards behind him in despair.

This really ignited the fight for 3rd place. Polesny, who finished 5th in the race, is only one point ahead of Dedic with 77 points and 7 points ahead of Holstein. Lopez is also getting closer and is only 10 points away from third place. So who will grab the last podium spot?

"It is not over yet"

Javier Loro, Leader of the Challenger League

One point is enough for Loro at the season finale!

In the Challenger League, too, we still have to wait for the 2021 champion. With the victory in Mugello, however, the title is as good as secure for Javier Loro. The Spaniard was able to dominate the race from pole, already having a lead of 2.5 seconds after two laps. His rivals and compatriots David Cid and Marcos Valverde finished 15 seconds behind.

Loro is now ahead of Cid in the standings with 24 points. At the season finale, a tenth place will be enough for the Challenger League title. If Cid were to win the last race, both drivers would be equal on points, but Loro would be champion with more victories this season.
Lorenzo Heyder put an exclamation mark on the result, finishing in fourth place and thus shattering his previous best (20th place in Spa).

Season finale... but where?

The final of the Racer and Challenger League will take place on 12 December. A special feature: The track of the last championship race is still secret and will not be published until 8 December. For the pilots, this means that they have less time to prepare. Excitement is programmed!
